Assistant professor positions

Candidates must have received a PhD degree or should receive it before the date of appointment. Preference will be given to highly motivated candidates, with an outstanding academic background.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct research activities at Mechanical Systems Evaluation Laboratory at IFS, and create scientific and technological progress on sensing and monitoring that increase reliability and safety of transportation systems and power plants.

1. Experiment and simulation of nondestructive testing (NDT)

2. Development of high temperature sensor

3. Evaluation of materials degradation by NDT.

(1) Salary: The annual income is calculated in accordance with Tohoku University wage regulations, and based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

(2) Term: Eight years. Evaluation will be conducted to promote to an associate professor during the term. If not promoted, renewal of contract will be permitted for another 2 years at most.
